The Israeli occupation government has decided to ignore and not respond to a letter sent by the Palestinian Authority (PA) on Saturday asking to allow the Palestinian residents of eastern Jerusalem to participate in the Palestinian elections.
The final decision not to respond positively or negatively to the PA was made during a senior-level government discussion in recent days regarding this issue.
Such a decision could prevent the Palestinians from holding the elections and perpetuate the current political deadlock in the Palestinian arena.
