The Israeli occupation government on Wednesday approved the release of tenders for about 2600 new settler homes in east Jerusalem and West Bank settlements a day before US president-elect Joe Biden takes office.
According to the Hebrew media 182 settler homes will be built as new projects and the others will be built within a plan to expand previous buildings.
The anti-settlement monitoring group Peace Now said that 2112 housing units for Jewish settlers would be built in the West Bank and 460 in east Jerusalem.
“Our out-of-touch government leadership continues to press on with its mad scramble to promote as much settlement activity as possible until the last minutes before the change of the administration in Washington” Peace Now said.
