The Israeli occupation navy on Sunday morning opened fire at Palestinian fishermen and their boats off the northern coast of the besieged Gaza Strip.
A local committee documenting Israeli violations against Gaza fishermen said that Israeli gunboats opened machinegun fire at fishing boats off the shore of Gaza City.
The committee added that the Israeli naval forces confiscated one fishing boat and caused damage to nets of other boats during the attack.
Last year the Israeli naval forces kidnaped 35 fishermen — nine of them still in detention —wounded 22 others confiscated 15 fishing boats caused total or partial damage to 54 boats and carried out 24 attacks on coastal areas where fishing boats normally gather.
