Israeli intelligence interrogates student over her travel to Jordan

Sunday 4-March-2007

NAZARETH (PIC)– Israeli intelligence summoned the Palestinian student Shirin Al-Maloukh to the Ofer military detention for interrogation after barring her from traveling to visit relatives in Jordan.

The student from the village of Karawat Bani Zeid west of Salift city was barred from crossing River Jordan to visit her relatives and told to report to Ofer intelligence office for questioning. Relatives of Shirin denounced the arbitrary measure against her.

More than 130 Palestinian females are held in the notorious Israeli occupation jails.

Meanwhile IOF troops arrested two Palestinian young men in Al-Khalil city at a late hour Saturday claiming they were AMB members.

In Eskaka village east of Salfit city IOF soldiers Saturday night invaded the village amidst intensified firing of live bullets and sonic bombs.

Young villagers threw stones at the invading troops and set barricades in the roads to impede movement of IOF vehicles.

The Hebrew radio also quoted an IOF spokesman as saying that over 1000 Palestinian workers were detained in the green line (Palestinian lands occupied in 1948) for working without permits.

He said that 320 of them were returned to the West Bank while the rest were retained for questioning.
