The Israeli army claimed on Thursday morning that its forces dismantled an explosive device set up by Palestinian protesters at Gaza’s southern borders.
An Israeli military spokesman said in a Thursday statement that a grenade implanted near the border fence separating the blockaded Gaza Strip from territories occupied in 1948 was neutralized.
The projected blast was intended to target Israeli soldiers deployed along the border area.
“Hamas is seeking to fuel tensions at flashpoints with Israeli soldiers” the spokesman claimed. “The Israeli army is ready to respond to any anti-occupation act.”
Earlier in the morning two Israeli bulldozers moved in the eastern corners of Rafah city south of Gaza sparking tension across the enclave’s border lands.
