The Israeli navy arrested 8 Palestinian fishermen off the Rafah shore south of the Gaza Strip on Tuesday evening.
Zakaria Bakr coordinator of the Union of Fishermen’s Committees said in a brief statement that Israeli navy arrested 8 Palestinian fishermen after confiscating their boat which was three miles off the shore.
The Israeli navy harasses Palestinian fishermen in the Gaza Strip on daily basis and sometimes injure or even kill them or steals their equipment and boats.
According to the Palestinian Ministry of Agriculture 4000 Palestinian fishermen use 1300 boats to work in the fishing industry in Gaza Sea.
