Israeli occupation bans family from visiting hunger striking father

Monday 15-January-2018

The Israeli occupation authorities prevented the family of the Palestinian detainee Rizq al-Rajoub from visiting him in the Ramla prison clinic.

A PIC news correspondent quoted the prisoner’s son Ahmed as stating that the occupation authorities banned him along with his mother and sisters from visiting his father who has been on an open-ended hunger strike for 22 days running and isolated in the Ramla prison.

The family expressed deep concern over their relative’s health which has been remarkably deteriorating.

The son added that the Israeli authorities turned down the family’s appeal forwarded through the Red Cross to hand them over a visit permit.

Ahmed also said the visit ban comes as part of an Israeli tactic to dampen the detainee’s spirits and force him to suspend his hunger strike.
