Works have been under full swing to finalize the construction of a so-called “Gate of Peace” bridge between Israel and Jordan.
According the Hebrew-speaking Walla news site construction works which began some two years ago have just been finalized near the northern Jordan Valley.
The 352-meter-long bridge makes part of a plan to build a free trade zone between Jordan and the Israeli occupation. Hundreds of factories will be reportedly constructed in the area.
No passport is required to pass through the bridge. The costs of construction works have been estimated at $17 million.
700 dunums of land from the Jordanian side and 250 dunums from the Israeli side were allotted to the project.
