Israeli occupation releases prisoner four months after end of his sentence

Friday 10-December-2010

GAZA (PIC)– Israeli  occupation released on Thursday a Palestinian prisoner from the Gaza Strip four months after the end of his seven-year sentence.

Shadi Abu al-Hsein (33years) was released at the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing from where he travelled to his home in Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.

Shadi was arrested in 2003 and charged with being affiliated with the Islamic Jihad and involvement in the manufacture of homemade missiles and was sentenced to seven years at the time. He ended the seven-year sentence four months ago but occupation refused to release him at the pretext that he did not have a Palestinian id card.

After serving his term Shadi had gone on an open-ended hunger strike  to protest being kept in prison which he only ended after he got a promise to be released.
