The Israeli occupation authorities on Thursday morning opened the Beit Hanoun (Erez) crossing point north of the blockaded Gaza Strip after they had kept it closed for eight consecutive days.
Director of the General Commission of Civil Affairs Mohamed al-Mukadma said the occupation authorities unblocked the passageway so as to allow patients and humanitarian cases access out of the besieged enclave.
The Israeli authorities closed off Beit Hanoun crossing on September 4 following clashes with Palestinian anti-occupation youth in response to the US crackdowns against UNRWA. 25 Palestinians were left injured in the clashes.
