Israeli police arrest Palestinians storm Sabri’s house

The Israeli police arrested three Palestinians from Jerusalem and raided the home of the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ikrima Sabri on Thursday night.

The Israeli police arrested Raeda Saeed al-Khalili as she was leaving the Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The occupation police target Saeed for documenting violations of the occupation and Jewish settlers. The police had ordered her banishment from the Mosque for five months which was renewed weeks ago.

Saeed was arrested by the occupation police seven times while she was leaving the Al-Aqsa Mosque and interrogated for at least two hours each time.

She was subjected to constant harassment especially while covering the events in Al-Aqsa and filming in its corridors although there is no law prohibiting taking photos or videos.

Meanwhile the Israeli police forces arrested a Palestinian youth while passing through the Shu’fat refugee camp checkpoint near Jerusalem.

A passing by Palestinian documented by his mobile phone camera the moment the policemen arrested the young man and assaulted him before putting him in a jeep.

Eyewitnesses reported that the occupation soldiers also arrested on Thursday a young Palestinian man in the Bab al-‘Amud area and checked his identity before arresting him.

Furthermore the Israeli forces stormed the house of the head of the Higher Islamic Council and the preacher of Al-Aqsa Mosque Sheikh Ikrimah Sabri in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Local sources revealed that the occupation forces warned Sheikh Sabri against provoking “incitement.”

The Sheikh is supposed to deliver his first Friday Khutba (sermon) today after being banned from Al-Aqsa for several months.

Meanwhile the Israeli occupation released on Thursday evening two Palestinian youths under the condition of house arrest and summoned another for investigation.

Local sources said that the occupation police released the two Jerusalemite youths Jihad Kaws and Rouhi Al-Kulaghasi under the condition of 5 days of house arrest and paying a fine.

The occupation forces also delivered Sheikh Iyad Atoun a summons order for investigation after storming his house in Sur Baher village southeast of Jerusalem.
