The Israeli occupation police arrested the Deputy General Director of Jerusalem Endowments Sheikh Najeh Bakirat on Sunday morning.
Local sources reported that the Israeli police arrested Sheikh Bakirat for the second time in less than a month. The occupation authorities deported him from the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City of Jerusalem for 6 months in November.
Dr. Bakirat a liberated prisoner was arrested several times by the Israeli police and was deported from the Al-Aqsa Mosque and the Old City several times. Also he faces constant harassment from the occupation police.
The arrest of Sheikh Bakirat comes as part of an escalated Israeli targeting of the employees of the Islamic Endowments Department and Aqsa guards.
The Israeli occupation targets Jerusalemites with arrests deportation orders and fines with the aim of dissuading them from frequenting the Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to a periodic report issued by Hamas’s media office in West Bank the occupation forces committed 1854 violations against the Palestinians and their lands in the West Bank and Jerusalem during October.
The occupation also deported 17 Palestinians from their places of residence and from the Al-Aqsa Mosque including Sheikh Najeh Bakirat an employee in the Islamic Endowments Department and guards in the Aqsa Mosque.
