The Israeli occupation police on Sunday evening physically assaulted a Jerusalemite young man before arresting him during his presence at the Aqsa Mosque.
The young man was identified as Sufiyan al-Rajbi and was taken prisoner near the Mosque’s al-Ghawanma Gate.
Eyewitnesses said that police officers assaulted and subdued the young man before hauling him to a detention center in the holy city.
Meanwhile the Israeli police set up a barrier at the entrance of Bab al-Asbat area in the Old City where they checked IDs of Jerusalemite citizens and fined some of them at the pretext of their failure to follow the anti-coronavirus measures.
