The Israeli police attacked Palestinian worshipers at Bab al-Majlis near al-Aqsa Mosque on Sunday evening.
A local source reported that worshipers were attacked while trying to bring gifts into al-Aqsa Mosque in preparation for a festival to be held inside the compound.
A guard of al-Aqsa Mosque was assaulted while another named Imran al-Rajabi was arrested by the Israeli police at Bab al-Silsila.
According to the PIC reporter tens of thousands of Palestinians participated on Sunday in a long human chain held in the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque in which slogans supporting the holy site and condemning Israeli violations were chanted.
