Israeli police attack Palestinians in al-Bustan in Jerusalem

Clashes erupted in the al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan in Occupied Jerusalem after the Friday prayer in the tent which was held in rejection of the policy of demolition and decisions that threaten to displace residents from several neighborhoods in the town.

The people organized a rally in front of the sit-in tent and chanted against the displacement policies stressing their steadfastness in the town.

The Israeli police stormed the area fired sound bombs and rubber bullets and chased the citizens in the Bir Ayoub neighborhood and the entrances to the al-Bustan neighborhood.

The occupation police were deployed in the vicinity of the al-Bustan tent before Friday prayer as they set up a checkpoint at the Wadi al-Rababa junction stopped vehicles and pedestrians and searched them.

Dozens of Muslim worshipers from Silwan and the neighborhoods of Jerusalem prayed in the al-Bustan tent.

The preacher Sheikh Musa Odeh confirmed the steadfastness of the people inside their homes and neighborhoods and their rejection of the self-demolition policy.

The Israeli municipality threatens to demolish several buildings in Silwan under the pretext of building without a permit.
