Israeli occupation police on Sunday broke into several homes of Palestinian Christians in Jerusalem and handed them fines under the pretext that they celebrated Holy Fire on Saturday.
Head of the Arab Orthodox Society in Jerusalem Mousa Jarjou’i said that the Israeli police raided homes of a number of Palestinian youths and handed each of them a 5000 NIS fine for allegedly taking part in a Holy Fire march.
Jarjou’i said all necessary safety measures were taken during the celebration which was held in a limited format stressing that the Israeli police are taking advantage of the coronavirus crisis to tighten their grip on the Christian community in Jerusalem.
