The Israeli occupation police on Friday issued a decision banning a Jerusalemite young man from entering the Aqsa Mosque for several months.
According to local sources 19-year-old Alaa Najeeb a resident of the Old City of Jerusalem was handed an order prohibiting his entry to the Aqsa Mosque for six months.
Police officers detained Najeeb with no reason as he was en route to the Aqsa Mosque for prayers took him in for interrogation and then released him.
The same young man had been exposed to a similar arbitrary measure several times before.
The Israeli police have given itself the right to ban any Muslim worshiper from entering the Islamic holy site for different periods although they have no jurisdiction over the Mosque which is under Jordan’s custodianship.
