The Israeli occupation police at dawn Tuesday prevented Jerusalemite worshipers from outside the Old City from performing the dawn prayer at the Aqsa Mosque.
“As part of an ongoing escalation against the Aqsa Mosque and the Jerusalemite people the occupation forces barred the worshipers as they were heading for the Fajr prayer at the Aqsa Mosque from entering the Old City and the Mosque” local sources said.
The sources pointed out that the police forces intensified their presence at and around the entrances leading to the Old City and the Aqsa Mosque and only allowed the Jerusalemites from the Old City to reach the Mosque.
In this regard Palestinian lawmaker Ayman Daraghmeh has warned that the Israeli occupation state and its arms are taking advantage of the Arab regression and the Palestinian silence to achieve their goal of banning Muslims from going to the Aqsa Mosque.
He stressed the need for intensifying the presence of Muslim worshipers and carrying out projects at the Aqsa Mosque to protect it against Israeli schemes.
