The Israeli occupation police on Tuesday morning closed Sultan Suleiman street between Bab al-Amud and Bab az-Zahra areas at the northern wall of the Old City of Jerusalem.
Local sources said that Israeli police forces forced Palestinian citizens coming from the direction of Bab az-Zahra to go back after blocking the street and obstructed the movement of students and citizens seeking to go to their schools and workplaces.
They added that the Israeli police intensified the presence of their forces in central Jerusalem and around the Old City as a measure intended to prevent Palestinian citizens from organizing activities in support of prisoners in Israeli jails.
