Israeli police impose Aqsa entry ban on Jerusalemite elderly woman

Saturday 13-January-2018

The Israeli occupation police on Friday evening released a Palestinian elderly woman on condition of staying away from the Aqsa Mosque for 15 days.

61-year-old Amira Khalil a native resident of Jerusalem said that Israeli police officers detained her immediately after she left the Aqsa Mosque and took her to a police center in Bab al-Silsela area and then to another one in al-Qishla.

Khalil added that she was detained on allegations of carrying a Palestinian flag and chanting Islamic religious slogans (Allahu Akbar) inside the Aqsa Mosque compound which the police considered an act of incitement.

The Israeli police also detained on the same day five Muslim worshipers from the United States after they chanted Allahu Akbar.
