The Israeli occupation police on Sunday evening physically assaulted and kidnaped two Jerusalemite young brothers in the Old City and attacked other local youths in Bab al-Amud area near the Aqsa Mosque.
According to local sources the Israeli police dispatched a large number of foot and mounted troops to areas outside the Aqsa Mosque especially in Bab al-Amud where they embarked on chasing and assaulting Jerusalemite young men and spraying them with skunk water.
For the sixth day running the Israeli police persisted unjustifiably in preventing Jerusalemite citizens (Palestinians from the holy city) from sitting or standing in the amphitheater and square of Bab al-Amud area in the Old City.
However thousands of Muslim worshipers were able to perform the nighttime Tarawih prayers at the Aqsa Mosque despite police restrictions and provocations in the Old City.
Many Jerusalemite citizens who were already banned by the police from entering the Aqsa Mosque for weeks or months also performed the Isha and Tarawih prayers in Bab al-Asbat area of the Old City.
