The Israeli occupation police on Thursday stormed the Islamic Orphanage High School in the Old City of Jerusalem and rounded up two students from a classroom claiming they had thrown stones at Israelis.
Jerusalem education director Samir Jebril said that police officers entered the school and snatched two kids called Mohamed Maz’arw and Ihab and Shahin from their classroom.
Jebril added that the police’s arrest of the two boys caused widespread panic among the students and prompted their relatives to rush to the school.
He condemned the police raid on the school describing it as a violation of the international law which provides protection for schoolchildren and their institutions.
Earlier on the same day Israeli policemen barred schoolchildren from reaching their school inside the Aqsa Mosque compound at the pretext they were carrying Palestinian text books in their bags.
160 child students were intercepted at the Aqsa Mosque’s Asbat Gate as they were trying to go to their school at the holy site and prohibited from studying after they were found in possession of Palestinian books according to local eyewitnesses.
