Israeli police raid Umm al-Hiran surround donated homes

Wednesday 8-February-2017

Israeli police raided Wednesday morning the Palestinian-Bedouin village of Umm al Hiran in the Negev and surrounded two donated homes as a prelude to demolish them.

Head of Umm al-Hiran’s local committee Raed Abu Qiaan affirmed that Israeli police stormed the village accompanied with a number of bulldozers and surrounded a tent and two caravans donated to replace homes demolished by Israeli authorities.

He called on fellow Palestinian citizens within the Green Line and their leadership to gather in the village to prevent the demolition.

Last week an Israeli officer of the Yoav Unit went to the village and threatened to demolish the temporary housing structures in the area.

Israeli authorities have earlier decided to displace more than 1000 residents of Umm al-Hiran in order to establish a Jewish town on its ruins.
