The Israeli occupation police on Thursday morning set up a number of road barriers at the entrances to some neighborhoods of Silwan district south of the Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem.
According to local sources the police road barriers caused a heavy build-up of traffic inside Silwan especially in the neighborhoods of Ein a-Luza Wadi Hilweh and Wadi al-Rababa.
Israeli police forces at those makeshift checkpoints embarked on checking the IDs of local residents searching vehicles issuing financial penalties against drivers.
