Israeli police on Wednesday raided different areas in Jerusalem and handed a number of Palestinian citizens interrogation orders.
Local sources said that the Israeli police stormed Obeid neighborhood amid heavy firing of stun grenades and distributed interrogation orders to Palestinian citizens over “unlicensed construction”.
Similar raids were reported in Shu’fat and Hitta areas where other Palestinians were handed notices to appear before the Israel Intelligence Service for interrogation. Some of them were not informed about the reason.
On Tuesday the Israeli police summoned the well-known pro-Aqsa activist Khadija Khuwais for questioning.
Palestinian residents of Jerusalem are regularly summoned arrested banished from the city or banned from travel under various pretexts as part of attempts by the Israeli authorities to pressure them to leave the city.
