Monday 24-August-2020

Israeli prison guards on Monday morning stormed Palestinian prisoners’ cells in Raymond jail and wreaked havoc on them.

According to the Palestinian Prisoner Society (PPS) this raid is the second of its kind since last July.

The PPS said the Israel Prison Service has lately stepped up its aggressive policies against Palestinian detainees including raids and assaults.

Meanwhile Palestinian prisoners in section 1 at Damon jail complained through the Palestinian Detainees and Ex-Detainees Affairs Commission of the harsh conditions they are held under.

The Commission said that the Damon jail prisoners are suffering from the lack of exposure to the sun extreme humidity and overcrowding dirty mattresses and food absence of medical care and spread of insects.

There are about 4700 Palestinians languishing in Israeli jails in inhumane conditions including 41 women 160 children 400 administrative detainees and 700 prisoners with different health issues 7 of whom are cancer patients.
