Israeli settlers attack al-Tuwani village near al-Khalil

Israeli settlers on Saturday afternoon attacked al-Tuwani village south of al-Khalil and threw stones at Palestinian houses for the second time in two days.

Abu Hamza al-Harini 56 a resident of the village told the PIC reporter that a group of settlers stormed the village and attempted to expel Palestinian farmers out of their lands to establish a new settlement outpost.

He added that the settlers repeatedly attack Palestinians their houses and their lands in an effort to force them to leave their villages and towns.

Coordinator of the National Committee Against the Wall and Settlement in Yatta Rateb al-Jabour said that settlers from Ma’on settlement attacked Palestinian citizens’ houses in al-Tuwani village under the protection of Israeli soldiers.

Al-Tuwani is a small Palestinian village located southeast of Yatta town in al-Khalil province near an illegal Israeli settlement built on private Palestinian lands in 1981 called Ma’on. Many of the village’s residents live in caves as the Israeli occupation forces regularly demolish their homes.
