A group of Jewish settlers escorted by the Israeli police stormed the courtyards of al-Aqsa Mosque on Tuesday.
Quds Press reported that 35 Israeli settlers and five intelligence officers broke into the holy site during the morning hours adding that presentations on the history of the alleged “Temple Mount” were given during the break-in.
Eyewitnesses said that the Israeli police detained two Palestinian youths inside the compound and forced them out the Mosque for no apparent reason.
Israeli settlers and policemen conduct almost daily incursions into al-Aqsa Mosque stirring anger and resentment among the Palestinians. Such break-ins fall in line with an Israeli scheme to alter the status quo in the site.
