Israeli settlers on Wednesday took over a Palestinian-owned farmland in Beit Ummar town north of the West Bank city of al-Khalil.
Activist Mohammed Awad said that Israeli settlers escorted by armed forces seized a 12-dunum farmland in Beit Ummar planted with almonds grapes and olives and placed barbed wire around it.
Awad said that the land is owned by a Palestinian citizen named Saqer Abu Ayyash and his brothers.
Abu Ayyash and his brothers have been fighting court battles for 20 years with Israeli settlers to prove their ownership of the land.
Abu Ayyash said in a statement to the PIC “Today they put barbed wire around the land and when I came they told me to go and complain to the Civil Administration.”
