Israeli soldier injured during clashes in Aqbat Jaber camp

Dozens of Palestinians suffered breathing problems at dawn Tuesday and three civilians including two brothers were arrested during clashes that erupted in Aqbat Jaber refugee camp southwest of Jericho with Israeli occupation forces (IOF).

Local sources reported that the IOF stormed the camp and violent confrontations broke out. IOF soldiers fired tear gas canisters sound bombs and live and metal-coated bullets at the Palestinian citizens.

An Israeli soldier was injured during these clashes and several Palestinian citizens were injured by rubber-coated metal bullets. Dozens suffered breathing difficulty and they were treated in the field according to the sources.

IOF arrested two brothers Yahya and Youssef Naseem Al-Muqeeti after raiding and searching their families’ house in Aqbat Jaber camp in Jericho.

The IOF soldiers also stormed the homes of the citizens of Akram al-Muqeeti and Khaled al-Muqeeti searched them and tampered with their contents. Muhammad Akram al-Muqiti was also arrested.

The West Bank and occupied Jerusalem witnessed raid and search campaigns at dawn Tuesday. 17 citizens were arrested including a member of the Palestinian Legislative Council Sheikh Khaled Tafesh. Others were summoned for questioning at the Israeli intelligence.

The IOF soldiers continue their daily search and arrest campaigns and terrorize residents especially women and children. These campaigns are usually followed by confrontations with Palestinian youths.
