Israeli media sources claimed that gunfire on Lebanon’s border has left an Israeli soldier moderately wounded on Wednesday.
Maariv Hebrew newspaper affirmed that an Israeli soldier was injured after shots were fired across the border with Lebanon.
The injured soldier was taken to hospital for treatment the sources pointed out.
The Israeli army has opened investigation into the incident.
Israeli military sources said that an exchange of gunfire erupted in the area of Ramin Ridge on the Lebanese border.
It said shots were fired from a passing vehicle on the Lebanese side toward Israeli forces.
Israeli forces responded with fire at the vehicles according to the military sources.
The incident came after an Israeli worker in the Army Ministry was shot and killed on Tuesday afternoon near the Egyptian border while doing maintenance work.
