Israeli forces blocked on Thursday the main entrance to the Arroub Technical University north of al-Khalil province in the southern occupied West Bank and prevented students and staff from entering the campus.
The closure comes just 20 hours after Israeli army troops rolled into the campus on Wednesday evening and attacked Palestinian students with teargas and live rounds. A number of students were kidnapped in the assault.
The Arroub University is located at the western entrance to the Arroub refugee camp and is surrounded by Bypass 60 leading to Israeli settlements built on Palestinian land in the area and an Israeli military watchtower.
Heavily-armed Israeli patrols are stationed in the area on a daily basis to protect settlers passing through the bypass road on way to the Gush Etzion outpost and illegal settlements built south of Occupied Jerusalem.
