The Israeli Supreme Court rejected on Thursday a petition submitted by the Peace Now movement and the Al-Khalil municipality to prevent the construction of two settlement buildings in the Old City of Al-Khalil comprising 31 housing units.
The Hebrew website Ynet said that this step is a very important achievement for the settlers as it will be held in the so-called Hezekiah Quarter in Al-Khalil city.
Planning for the two buildings started several years ago but was frozen for a while before the Supreme Court rejected the petition submitted in this regard which means allowing the completion of the construction of the 31 settlement units.
This plan is part of a larger plan that includes building 60 settlement units.
