Israeli warplanes fired two missiles at a Palestinian resistance site in southwestern Gaza City at dawn Friday.
Local sources said that at least two missiles were fired at the site causing only material damage.
For its part the Israeli army said that the raid was in retaliation to the firing of incendiary balloons from the Gaza Strip at Israeli settlements adjacent to the coastal enclave on Thursday night.
Fawzi Barhoum a Hamas spokesman described the raid as an attempt to please the settlers and to cover up the escalating internal Israeli political crisis.
He said in a statement on Friday that the air strike will not deter the Palestinian people and the resistance from their national struggle with all means available to attain their rights and end their suffering.
