Israeli warplanes blast tunnels

RAFAH (PIC)– Israeli F-16 warplanes blasted a number of targets along the Egyptian-Palestinian borders south of Rafah in the Gaza Strip at dawn Monday security sources said.

They told the PIC reporter that at least one missile was fired at a tunnel south of Rafah causing a big explosion and destruction in the area but no casualties were reported.

An Israeli army spokeswoman claimed that the raid was in retaliation to the firing of mortar shells and a projectile at western Negev from Gaza.

She said that the warplanes targeted a tunnel used for smuggling explosive materials from Egypt into Gaza.

Meanwhile the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Sunday night rounded up six Palestinians four of them in the district of Jenin including three boys aged 15 and 16.

The IOF soldiers also detained a Palestinian boy at the Awarta roadblock south of Nablus after alleging he had a locally made explosive device in his possession.

In Qalqilia district a 22-year-old youth was detained after storming his family home locals said.

IOF soldiers manning Seelat Al-Dhaher road barrier near Jenin on Sunday beat up a Palestinian driver eyewitness reported noting that the soldiers smashed the windshield of his vehicle.

They added that the driver Khaled Mubarak 30 was hospitalized because of the severe beating.

IOF troops at another roadblock near Nablus unleashed their dogs to search Palestinian vehicles witnesses said.
