The Israeli prison authorities are trying to dampen my spirits head of the Islamic Movement in 1948 Occupied Palestine Sheikh Salah said on Wednesday.
Quoting Sheikh Salah from Rimonim jail lawyer Khaled Zabarqa said Salah has been enduring dire detention conditions in Israeli lock-ups in an attempt to dash his hopes.
Sheikh Salah compared his isolated cell to a bathroom where there is no room for him to hold his prayers adding that he has been eating on a filthy carpet that is just one meter and a half away from the toilet.
Sheikh Salah also said surveillance cameras have been installed everywhere in his cell to monitor every single movement even while he goes to the toilet.
Lawyer Zabarqa said such conditions amount to flagrant violations of prisoners’ rights warning of Israeli attempts to whitewash such felonies by criminalizing Salah’s statements.
