Palestinian businessmen on Sunday morning rallied in protest at Israeli arbitrary restrictions at al-Jalamah crossing north of Jenin city.
Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that hundreds of businessmen rallied at the crossing to express their rejection of the humiliating measures pursued recently by Israeli soldiers and officers against them before allowing them into the 1948 occupied lands.
One of the protesters said that Israeli officers at the crossing started recently to take away entry permits from citizens issued especially for commercial purposes at the pretext that their holders were workmen and not businessmen or merchants.
He added that they were also exposed lately to prolonged searches and checks at the crossing which delayed their entry into the Green Line.
He called on the Israeli competent authorities to stop such measures against Palestinian businessmen describing their travel through the crossing as very important for them in order to continue their business activities.
