The Commission of Scholars and Preachers in Jerusalem warned on Monday of the “serious consequences” of relocating the US Embassy to occupied Jerusalem.
The Commission said in a press release that the procedures of transferring the US Embassy to Jerusalem are ongoing and “this will lead to dire consequences”.
It stressed that Jerusalem is an Arab and Islamic city adding that this fact will not be changed by any action.
The statement affirmed that moving the embassy to Jerusalem contradicts Washington’s sponsorship of the negotiations between the Palestinians and the Israelis emphasizing that “the US should be a sponsor of peace and justice not the opposite”.
The Commission called on all international institutions and organizations as well as the Arab Muslim and other countries to stand firm against this unjust decision.
It added that the new US president Donald Trump should be more rational and remember that injustice generates chaos and causes loss of rights.
