A Jewish settler fired at and killed a Palestinian youth at dawn Friday on the Raisan mountain near the Jewish settlement of Neria in northwestern Ramallah.
Radhi Abu Fakhida the head of Ras Karkar Village Council said that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) informed the father of the martyrdom of his son Khaled Maher Nofal 34.
Fakhida added that IOF seized the body of the martyr stormed the village and took his father Maher Nofal and his brother Muhammad to the site of his martyrdom to see his personal belongings.
Local sources said that Nofal was driving near Mount Raisan when a settler fired at him.
The martyr is from Ras Karkar village and he worked as an employee at the Palestinian ministry of finance. He is married and has a 4-year-old son.
According to the Hebrew Ynet website the Palestinian who was unarmed arrived by car at the settlement that was built on the mountain and tried to break into one of the settlers’ homes before a settler shot him killing him on the spot.
An Israeli military spokesman claimed that an “attack” was foiled and that his forces are sweeping the area fearing the presence of other “attackers”.
Last Sunday Muhammad Amr 35 from Halhoul town north of al-Khalil was shot dead for allegedly trying to carry out a stabbing attack near the Gush Etzion junction.
Days earlier the child Atallah Rayan 17 from Qarawat Bani Hassan was killed by IOF near Salfit under the pretext of trying to stab soldiers.
