A horde of Jewish settlers on Saturday attacked Palestinian farmers and vandalized their vehicles near the town of Turmus Ayya north of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources settlers from the illegal outpost of Adei Ad assaulted villagers from nearby Turmus Ayya as they were harvesting olives from their own grove with one man requiring medical treatment after being attacked with pepper spray.
The settlers also set one car on fire and vandalized three others which sustained different levels of damage.
Soon later several soldiers showed up and provided protection for the settlers as the farmers were trying to defend themselves.
Several farmers including elderlies reportedly suffered from their exposure to tear gas after the soldiers attacked them.
The incident came amid a recent uptick in attacks by extremist settlers many of them specifically targeting Palestinian farmers and olive groves during the current harvest season in the West Bank.
