A group of Jewish settlers attacked on Saturday morning Palestinian farmers while picking their olives in the village of Tuqou east of the southern West Bank city of Bethlehem.
Local sources affirmed that settlers from an illegal Jewish settlement near Tuqou attacked the farmers and tried to force them to leave their lands.
However the farmers confronted them and pushed the settlers out of the area.
Last week Israeli occupation forces prevented a South African diplomat among other foreign activists from helping Palestinian farmers in the harvest in the same village and fired tear gas at them.
Such attacks by Jewish settlers have been routinely reported in the occupied Palestinian territories especially during the olive harvest season.
