A horde of extremist Jewish settlers on Saturday attacked Palestinian farmers in Kafr ad-Dik town and tried to storm al-Khilla area in Yasuf village in the Salfit province.
According to local sources a gang of settlers from the illegal settlement of Bruchin attacked a number of local farmers in Kafr ad-Dik town and expelled them from their own lands in al-Wajeh ash-Shami area.
In a separate incident local residents managed to fend off a group of settlers as they tried to attack property in Yasuf village.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli soldiers intervened and fired tear gas grenades at the villagers to secure the withdrawal of the settlers towards the settlement of Taffuh in the east of the village.
Another group of settlers escorted by soldiers blocked the junction of Etzion and the bypass road between the towns of Za’atara and Teqoa in Bethlehem and obstructed traffic.
In al-Khalil settlers also attacked Palestinian homes and property in Samri area in Masafer Yatta under military protection.
According to local sources settlers from three nearby illegal settlements in southern al-Khalil attacked Palestinian homes and property and assaulted local shepherds and farmers from the families of al-Jabareen and an-Najjar in the hamlets of Shi’b al-Batim and at-Tuwaimim.
Later the residents managed to confront the settlers and forced them to leave the area.
