A group of Israeli settlers cut down on Saturday morning dozens of olive trees in Burin village south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus according to a local official.
Ghassan Daghlas who is watching illegal settlement activities in the north of the occupied West Bank said settlers coming from the nearby illegal settlement of Yitzhar chopped 20 live trees owned by a local farmer.
Daghlas identified the owner of the trees as Zakariya Jamil Najjar pointing out that his land is in the al-Mayadin area between the Burin village and Yitzhar settlement in southern Nablus.
Israeli settlers’ vandalism in the occupied West Bank is a daily routine and is fully backed by Israeli authorities and it even though increases during the soon approaching olive harvest season which is the main source of income for thousands of Palestinian families.
