A horde of extremist Jewish settlers escorted by soldiers on Wednesday detained a Palestinian shepherd and his sister in Kisan town east of Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
Chief of the town Ahmed Ghazal said that settlers with the help of soldiers detained Suleiman Abiyat and his sister as they were grazing sheep in the grassy plain of al-Hajj Mohamed in the east of Kisan.
Ghazal added that the settlers and soldiers refused to let them go and insisted that they pay a fine.
There was no information if the shepherd and his sister were released later.
Kisan villagers and shepherds are systematically exposed to assaults by Jewish settlers and soldiers. News reports already talked about settlers unleashing their dogs on shepherds and their cattle several times.
The Israeli occupation army demolished several homes and structures in Kisan as part of its efforts to displace the local residents in the West Bank and replace them with Jewish settlers.
