For the second time in two weeks hundreds of extremist Jewish settlers held and participated last night in a boisterous concert that involved singing and dancing at the Ibrahimi Mosque in al-Khalil City.
The settler revelry at the Ibrahimi Mosque which started on Monday night continued into the early morning hours of Tuesday.
Ghassan al-Rajabi director of the Ibrahimi Mosque explained that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) closed the Ibrahimi Mosque to Muslim worshipers and allowed settlers from the illegal settlements of the West Bank to enter the Old City of al-Khalil in order to hold celebrations at the Ibrahimi Mosque.
Rajabi said that the IOF imposed tight security restrictions on the southern area of al-Khalil City and the area around the Ibrahimi Mosque to secure the settler celebrations.
He condemned such persistent desecration of the Mosque as part of the Israeli occupation state’s settlement policy and its attempts to entirely impose its control over the Islamic holy site and the Old City of al-Khalil.
He pointed out that the IOF intends to close the Mosque on November 19 for other Jewish celebrations.
