Jewish settlers seize Jerusalemite home

Thursday 2-April-2009

OCCUPIED JERUSALEM (PIC)– Israeli policemen were deployed on Thursday morning in the vicinity of one of the Arab houses in the Old City of occupied Jerusalem after five Jewish settlers seized it by force local sources said.

The settlers affiliated with the Itoret Kuhanim claimed that they owned the house.

Locals reported that tens of settlers burst into the home of Nasser Jaber and occupied it while his owner was painting it. Jaber scuffled with the intruders but the Israeli police intervened and allowed the usurpers to stay in the house after expelling and detaining its rightful owner.

Tension ran high in the occupied holy city especially in the neighborhood where the house is located.

Meanwhile bulldozers of the Israeli-controlled municipality of Jerusalem on Thursday demolished a Palestinian shop near Bab El-Amod in central occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources said that the Israeli occupation police closed the main street before traffic during the demolition.

Other sources reported that the Israeli municipality officials notified a number of citizens in Aisawiya suburb also in central Jerusalem that their homes would be flattened at the usual pretext of lack of construction permit which the municipality hardly allows it.

Other municipality teams are roaming various suburbs in the holy city on similar missions the sources pointed out.
