Palestinian activists and journalists have reported that Jewish settlers recently established a number of new outposts on annexed Palestinian lands in the towns of Kafr Malik and Deir Jarir near the settlement of Kochav Hashahar in the east of Ramallah.
They said that hordes of settlers placed recently scattered sets of mobile homes and structures on large tracts of land around Kochav Hashahar as part of an Israeli plan to control the largest possible area of land in the occupied West Bank.
Settlement affairs specialists warned of Israeli intents to fully control the eastern countryside of Ramallah through building more settler outposts.
Anti-settlement activist Bashar al-Qaryuti for his part stated that the building of more settler outposts is aimed at controlling Area C of the West Bank in its entirety especially in the central West Bank and the Jordan Valley.
