A horde of Jewish settlers on Monday evening set fire to a vast tract of cultivated land in Burin town south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
According to local sources settlers from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar set olive groves aflame and fled the area.
On Sunday settlers also chopped off dozens of fruitful olive trees in the same town belonging to farmers Akram Ibrahim and Tammam Eid.
With the start of the olive harvest season Jewish settlers living illegally in the West Bank launch attacks on olive groves especially those located near settlements and outposts.
The olive harvest season was once a joyful time for Palestinian families celebrating the yearly agricultural event and their ties to the land but for many years now olive gathering has been taking place under the shadow of land grab Israeli restrictions imposed on Palestinian access to the remaining swaths of land and settler attacks on harvesters and vandalization of trees.
