Islamic Jihad Movement on Tuesday described the US military base recently established in the Negev in southern Israel as a “serious threat” that would pave the way for a new war targeting the Palestinian people.
The Movement said in a statement that the opening of a first-of-its-kind US military base in 1948 occupied Palestine indicates the blatant US support for Israel’s “terrorism”.
It pointed out that Israel seeks to extend its influence in the region adding that the internal conflicts plaguing the area in addition to some Arab attempts to normalize relations with Israel will make its mission easier.
