Saturday 12-September-2020

Ayman Safadi Jordanian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriate Affairs said that the required change and the basic step for achieving a just and comprehensive peace in the Middle East is to stop the Israeli actions that undermine the two-state solution end the illegal occupation of Palestinian lands and fulfill all the legitimate rights of the brotherly Palestinian people.

Safadi explained in a statement after announcing the normalization of Bahraini relations with Israel on Friday that the condition for a just and comprehensive peace is the end of the occupation and the establishment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital on the borderlines of the fourth of June 1967 based on the two-state solution in accordance with international law the Arab Peace Initiative and the land-for-peace equation.

He stressed that there is no comprehensive just peace and no comprehensive security or stability unless all the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people are fulfilled on top of them their right to freedom and an independent state with sovereignty over all of its national soil according to the two-state solution.

Safadi affirmed that the Jordanian Kingdom will continue to work in coordination with brothers and friends in order to achieve a just peace which constitutes a Jordanian Palestinian and Arab strategic choice and which will not be comprehensive and permanent unless it was accepted and adopted by the people.

The Minister emphasized that the occupation is the major cause of the conflict and its demise according to the two-state solution is the only way to achieve a just comprehensive and lasting peace.
